Encouragement

Daily Bible Reading: Romans 15:1-13

“May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another; in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Romans 15:5, 6

If we are recipient of such a word, the way to handle it is (1) assume that God is allowing it to be said for our good and (2) pray for grace to see the truth in what is being said, even if the facts are wrong. If we persevere, the Holy Spirit will turn the occasion into blessing. Laying down your life for your brother involves the willingness to be hated (at least temporarily!) so that the word of truth might turn the person to Jesus and to life. Silence can be the mark of betrayal rather than of life-giving love in such a case.

When you discouraged about who you are, and the many times you fall flat on your face, what can you do about it?
