Our Daily reading is found in James 1:1-27

“A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. ” James 1:8 “Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your heats, ye double-minded.” James 4:8

Jesus told us that no one can serve two masters. “Either he will hate the one and love the other,” he said, “or else he will hold to the one and despise the other” Luke 16:13
Double-mindedness is instability. So what can you do about it when you are tossed to and from on feelings and circumstances? First, don’t deny it if it is there! Face that your heart is divided, and that you have difficulty sticking with a commitment. We are all in need of the same kind of recognition of our particular ailment or sin-pattern. Second, try obedience in little things. Jesus reminds us in his parable, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities!” Luke 19:17. That is the promise of progress as we seek to be faithful in little things.
