The lost lustre of glory

Our Daily Bible Reading today will be found in Revelation 2:1-11

“But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.” Revelation 2:4

What began in faith and zeal can easily turn into half-heartedness. There was a flaw eating away at the heart, which sooner or later would cause terrible trouble. “Remember then from what you have fallen, repent and do the works that you did at the first. If not I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent” Revelations 2:5. Notice the repetition of the word repent. This was the key to restoration of “the love you had at first.” We can allow the daily cleansing of repentance to wash the windows of our souls clear, so that we can see with His light and grow in the sunlight of His love. That first love should be a treasure never to be lost.

  1. Another great post that spoke volumes to my old heart. Only through repentence and a refining through the Holy Spirit can we come at last to those blessings that God has in store for us. Amen!
