The Flickering Light

Today’s daily reading comes in Revelation 3:1-13

“Awake, strengthen what remains and is on the point of death, for I have not found your works perfect in the sight of my God.” – Revelation 3:2

We often must be wakened to something in our lives we have come to take for granted, and for which we make allowances. As the Lord sees it, we need to be wakened, even sharply! “After all, look at all the people who are getting along just fine without all this concern for religious things! But unless we continue to strengthen and nourish “the things that remain,” the desires and intentions which God has put in our hearts to serve him, we will gradually become cold and lifeless, having no feeling or affection for the things of the Spirit.

  1. How true this is! Without our passion for the things of God we become cold shadows of what we could be, trapped within our own lack of faith. These are very wise words that you posted, dear sister, and should be heeded by all who would call themselves Christians.
